About the Author
Jennifer Roberts has taught economics to public health professionals at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine for over three decades. She became involved with the economics of infectious disease in the late 1980s, producing work on salmonella, Ecoli O157, infectious intestinal disease, hepatitis, flu, and latterly hospital acquired infection and M.R.S.A. . The work has had important policy implications and has been widely used. She is also interested in the economics and policies associated with health care systems and public health sectors, and the changes in their organisation that have occured following the adoption of market style management.
