Psychological Consultation and Collaboration: Introduction to Theory and Practiceprovides an overview of both the theory and practice of consultation and collaboration along with a summary of the empirical support, multicultural strengths, and limitations for each approach. Coverage includes mental health consultation, behavioral consultation, organizational development consultation, and the processes in consultation and collaboration–including the characteristics of the people who engage in them, evaluation of the outcomes of the two processes, and ethical guidelines for consultants and collaborators. Two chapters deal with the specifics of consulting with teachers and parents, with emphasis on multiple relationships among parents, schools, and communities. The 7th edition contains many cutting edge updates, including more information about empirically-based interventions; alternative views of the consulting relationship; school, family and community interventions; and recent research findings and updated policy statements. A new chapter examines Solution Focused Consultee Centered Consultation, an approach rooted in constructiveness theory that uses the consultee’s strengths to build interventions.

Psychological Consultation and Collaboration: Introduction to Theory and Practice PDF

This is quite possibly the worst text book I have ever tried to read. It seems as though the author took a simple subject and squeezed the life out of it in order to fill more pages. I do not recommend this book to anyone, unless you are having trouble falling asleep or you like wasting your money.

This book is difficult to work with. The organization of the book is poor and I wish my professor had another option for us to use. It has been hard to find enough information to write my essays on easy topics, the glossary is limited, and there is alot of text crammed into small pages. I am a 4.0 grad student and this book is the most difficult I have ever worked with. I suppose the information is solid but it is not very through and could use a better layout. Use it if you have no other option.
