As a student of psychology/mental health and human services I have had to read a lot of boring text books for classes that were torture to get through. This book on ethics however, was very interesting. The authors are well known leaders in ethics and psychology and they present the concepts eloquently but in easy to understand ways. I found this book easy to read and to stay interested in because of the way the authors present their topics and make you think about your own ethics and morals and how they relate to the profession you are studying for. They also present examples of dilemmas that counselors may face and the questions of "What would you do? How do you feel? What would you say?" But it doesn't end there. The authors even go as far as to debate each other about important amendments in ethical code. I learned a lot from this book and enjoyed the way it made me think about myself in relation to the responsibilities one has in a helping profession- so much so that I felt the need to share my opinion. Hopefully professors and teachers will see this review and consider adding this text to their syllabuses.By Sadie Jane
the book offers a comprehensive understanding of ethical issues in counseling and psychotherapy. as a practical guide, the focus of the book is not on conflicts or dilemmas as such but more on the implications of ethic codes for the contemporary practice of psychotherapy. I highly recommend this book to both students and practitioners alike.By Stephen Ayisu
