This was the recommended textbook, but my mom, a trained med. tech and former microbiology lab administrator, approved of it as well. I'm keeping it as a reference. I don't know if every nurse is well-versed in microbiology, but I grew up hearing about it and it doesn't hurt you or your patients to know more than you need to know.
