Netter's Concise Neuroanatomy, 1e PDF

I have found Netter's Concise Neuroanatomy to be incredibly helpful in my Neuroanatomy of Speech and Hearing Mechanisms class. I consider myself to be an auditory visual learner. This is the best supplement to notes and lecture. For individuals who need to see the connection of arteries,CN innervation or any other aspect of neuroanatomy, Netter's guide is functional and highly informative.

Neuro-anatomy and -physiology are among those scientific disciplines constantly under pressure to advance and rewrite their own history. This book, Netter's Concise Neuroanatomy, builds on Frank Netter's work done for the Ciba Symposia series to yield up a good, completely up-do-date manual in full Netter color. He wasn't always reliably anatomically accurate, but Netter was good at teaching through semi-diagrammatic full-color art, and this manual makes good use of what he was able to accomplish in neuroanatomy-which was quite a bit, actually-and supplements it with the work of three other medical illustrators: John Craig, M.D., Carlos Machado, M.D., and Jim Perkins, MS, MFA. It's a good fit. The additional illustrators have managed, successfully, to integrate their work with Netter's so that the Look of the book is consistent, end-to-end.
I am a medical illustrator, and I rely on books like this one-and like Netter's Atlas of Human Neuroscience-to augment what I know or have on hand as references. When the book arrived, I consciously & systematically tested it against my other neuroanatomy references, e.g., Gray's Anatomy (British and American), Blumenfeld's Neuroanatomy, Manter and Gatz' Neuroanatomy, Noback/Demarest's The Nervous System, and two or three other handbooks, including Netter's Atlas of Human Neuroscience. This book passed the test, which included presenting it with a neural pathway only described in detail within the past 7-10 years. It may deserve a five-star rating. I gave it 4 because I have found that Netter's command of anatomy in general is not always reliable.
