The Johns Hopkins Manual of Gynecology and Obstetrics PDF

This is a compact book following the same formula for the other manuals from this collection (Ex Washington manual). It is not a treatise and it is not intended to be so, quite the contrary. It is a pocket book, easy to carry and to manipulate. It cover all the topics you might need for your day to day life in the hospital in a short , but not too short, and up to date format. I like the fact that you can read any chapter in less than 30 minutes. I recommend this book for medical students in need of a compact book to carry during the GOB internship or for revising topics before an exam.

I think my entire class of OB-GYN residents bought this our intern year. I still use it now as a third year. It covers a lot of the information you can get pimped on, and explains it well. It is small enough to carry around, so those slow rotations, where you have 5-10 minutes throughout the day, this is a good resource. The only negative things I notice is that there is a lot of information, so you have to read instead of skim. And the book cannot fit into my white coat pocket. But definately one of the books I rely upon.
