Assessment of Children: Behavioral, Social, and Clinical Foundations. PDF
A phenomenal book that gives a good overview of each of the main tests used by school psychologists, and has many tables and lists that help with report writing. There's also a section that highlights good/bad reports and the reasons why. When I was a student this was a necessary tool. As a first year school psychologist I still refer to it. Beware that there is a supplement that now goes with it as this book came out before the WISC-IV. Hence, you may want to check to see if Sattler is bringing out a new book in the near future and hold off for that to avoid having to buy both the book and the supplement. That's why I gave only 4 stars. It's expensive but well worth the money.By Mellie
As a graduate student in a school psychology program, I am always looking for books that are simple, direct, and informative. I think that Sattler was successful in capturing these attributes and then some. He was able to identify and fully explain different assessment tools in layman terms. He also was descriptive of the various tests, subtests, and provides the knowledge that one should have to correctly intrepret the test results. I feel that this book is the bible of school psychologists and is a must have in every school!By Kimberly Loughlin
